A n t e M o r t e m v. II
"Solitudinem fecerunt, pacem appelunt"
For centuries, humans lived life upon this world in peace, of what they called peace. Throughout the ages of time, man has fought against man, kin slaying and dealing death out as if it was a wild card. Blood stained the ground, bot for some time now, humans have learned to live with themselves, trusting no one. And so life went on, and so did time. History continued to repeat itself, and what had been in the past was forgotten. Science Fiction held the fascination of man mundane minds, and their amusement. How could such a thing be real? Disregarding it to be true, folk tales and lore of the were-wolf, vampire, and were-feline became a story to frighten their children with. What they could not reckon were other creature, and these creature took on the form of a human. Their features as unique as a mortal. However, human they were not.
Lycanthrope and Vampire.
These creatures had battled against each other for many, many years, seeking dominance over the other. Humans were blind to lycanthrope and vampires of the world, thinking they only existed in stories. Fiction, soon became reality. In the year of 2010, a war, The Great War, was waged against humans. Blood painted the grounds red, and screams pierced the air. For the first time in history, man was now fighting against their fiction characters of the stories. Caught off guard and on unawares, the shifters and blood thirsty vampires banded together and crushed the wasteful humans. Now, all that exists of the human race are those who survived and fled into hiding. Never did that think that such creatures could ever exist. This ignorance was the key to the uprising, and the sudden victory.
Divide and Conquer.
Years passed... and with those years, came tensions. The three races began to bicker and fight amongst themselves, each wanting more control. More territory. Thus, in 2019, another war was raged; this time, Were-felines verses Were-canines verses Vampires. Each race suffered it's own losses and gains. Following the battle in Times Square, each race retreated to an area in New York City. The Were-canines claimed most of the Upper & Middle Manhattan section.... The Were-canines claimed Lower Manhattan as their own.... and the Vampires took to Brooklyn. There are some areas in New York which still remain as neutral ground -- mostly various fights and scrapings take place.
The Law of Revenge.
Now, in the year 2023, fights and battles still take place; Times Square being more or less ground zero. Each race survives on their own, torturing and teasing the others. Humans, though coming to their own demise and extinction, still survive.... running and hiding, occasionally banning together and erupting a fight against the were-canines, were-felines or vampires. The world that was taken for granted by humans was taken away from them, and now that they must hide to save their lives, everything has changed greatly. For the first time in the history of mankind, the mortal of the world are banding together for a brighter future.
