ALIAS' Placeholder. . .
OK so when I first heard about Desperate Housewives I thought it sounded like a Melrose Place set in the suburbs, but it looked like maybe something decent and I needed something to hold me over until ALIAS comes back in January.

Then I watched the first episode. . . this episode got me so excited because this is the coolest show since ALIAS. It beats LOST as the best new show (and I really loke LOST). It even starts off on a roller coaster.

The show opens with a voice over of a woamn talking about herself. She's a happy houswife, she cleans, she runs errands, she bakes things for the kids, and then she goes to the hall closet pulls out a gun and kills herself. There's a family seceret that needs to be uncovered, why did she kill herself. Then there's the nosey neighbor, the woman married to a rich man and doing the gardner, the single mom, the slutty divorcee, fighting over the cute guy who moved in next door (but he has a secret too). . . it is so much more than I expected. I am already hooked.

On a side note the music to the pilot and the theme song was composed by Danny Elfman, for those of you who know of him, he doesn't do anything if it doesn't have some quirkiness to it. It almost feels like Edward Scissorhands with an edge. . .and nobody with scissors for hands.

Anyway the pilot is being re-run saturday (I think) check it out if you get a chance. It's good.

Re: ALIAS' Placeholder. . .
My only worry is Desperate Housewives got GREAT ratings and beat the pants off of Law & Order CI. So it's getting better ratings than ALIAS. That just makes me a little nervous.

you really liked it? i thought it was ok..
and i would not worry about the ratings, people were just curious...

question: in lost, when we saw the segment with the junky (charlie) did you notice that he went up front of the plane to the restrooms and when he got out cause the plane was going down he took the first available seat which means he would have been sitting in first class, which means he would be dead no?
