~About Your character

What is your character's full name? Anthony Morose Riddle (No relation to Tom Riddle)

Character's age? 16

Appearance:
The spitting image of his father, Anthony Morose Riddle is almost freakishly tall. He stands at six feet one inch at the age of sixteen, though it's almost certain that he will not grow much taller. He has bad posture, shoulders often slumped over and head bowed slightly. Some people might think he does this to appear shorter then he is, and those who think that have guessed right. Morose found that many people are intimidated by his height or simply hate having to look up to talk to him. His slouch subtracts a mere inch from him.

Anthony's face is narrow and thin with slightly soft features, thin lips that are set in a partial downturn in one corner, a delicate thin narrow nose, and blue eyes that always seemed suspicious, capped by red eyebrows a shade lighter then his hair, were set center of his face. One light scar on his left eyebrow tell that he'd had it pierced before and another small thin scar on the left hand side of his lower lip is the result of falling down at age three and biting his lip though this too looks like a piercing scar. On the occasion that he smiles, the right corner of his lips, the side that turns down into a slight frown, rises higher then the other side in a crooked smile with a small dimple. His teeth are straight as the result of a year in braces. Anthony's hair is in a butch sort of cut with long straight bangs that hand to his chin on either side of his face, the back and top is cut spiky-short and it's naturally flaming red with dashes of soft orange and blondish highlights. His ears, hidden behind his bangs from the front view, are of medium size, a small scar on the cartilage of his right ear says that once upon a time it was pierced.

His slumped shoulders are bony and slim, curving inward slightly from his permanent slouch and flowing into a thin chest with a thin layer of muscle. Though his chest is not bunched with muscle, being a teenager, his arms are wrapped with tendons and his stomach is wrapped with tendon and a little muscle. The outline of the muscle can barely be seen and a thin trail of light orange blond hair trails from belly button into his pants on an otherwise hairless torso. His legs are long, fair with muscle, the legs of a runner. Anthony's flesh is not pale but nor is it tanned. It's at the color of one who spends enough time in sunlight and darkness to cast a peach flushed color, though his arms and face are a shade darker then the rest of his body. He hates his feet, size twelve and always wears socks when he isn't wearing shoes. He was never barefooted. Feet are gross. His hands are thin and spidery, long boney fingers with short, chewed off nails and torn cuticles. His nails are often painted black or silver and green after his house colors and on his right hand middle finger he wears his father’s silver wedding band.

personality:
Anthony Morose Riddle has always been and will always be curious. He was curious about absolutely everything, especially magic. His interests and hobbies are magic, false or true magic. He has a slight knack for being a trouble maker, a trait inherited from his father, Andrew. Anthony is not bothered by asking questions, especially 'why?' and 'how?' While he likes to ask questions of others, get to know them in-depth, he rarely gives out information about himself.

This secretive young man is also very picky about who he will hang out with, often just a little too fast to judge. Sometimes, when he judges a person wrong he might grudgingly admit, though not very loudly, that he 'might have maybe have been just a little bit wrong...possibly' and then he'll retreat to his dorm to 'lick his wounded pride' under the rouge of studying. But it isn't often that he will admit that he was wrong out loud, rather he will just go on with life as if nothing has happened. But, until you've proven otherwise, in his eyes you might just be a deatheater or you might just be out to kill or you might just be... He's paranoid.

Anthony is most often just as his middle name describes. Morose. Morbid or somber. He began to act in such a way as to look 'cool' but recent events in the past two years of his life have changed this strict attitude into truth. His overall attitude is serious and 'older then he is'. He's resourceful, ambitious, and imaginative and enjoys writing. Every so often, to keep his positive self-esteem, he needs his ego stroked, a compliment or something along those lines.

Morose is not a deeply affectionate person. He rarely shows any feelings of love or emotional interest beyond his mother, little brother, his cat, and maybe to friends. While he is loyal to anyone he sees fit, if you do not meet his standards he turns you away. As said before, Morose is picky about who he befriends and even more so of who he allows to entwine his deep emotions. He is impatient, edgy, and often too opinionated. He hates to be hated. He won't let you hate him.

Give the names of all members of your character's immediate family:
Father: Andrew Michael Riddle; Deceased
Mother: Lora Faye Adams-Riddle; Age 36
Brother: Andrew Michael Riddle; Age 3

Explain his/her history:
To understand Anthony, we must go back to his parent’s youth. His father, Andrew Michael Riddle, the son of two muggles, was a slightly trouble making, fun loving youth who maintained fair enough grades, though nothing superb because he'd preferred to 'hang out' and 'play games' opposed to doing homework and studying. Being Slytherin, he didn't associate with many students of the other houses outside of classes and worked at befriending the slytherin boys and wooing and dating many of the slytherin girls. It did not take him long to realize that the girls he'd been drawn to 'tough girls with attitudes' was not what he was actually looking for. Lora Faye Adams, the daughter of a muggle and a wizard, was much different. She was the quiet sort of girl, well known with a fair amount of friends but unlike Andrew, she did not seek attention. She often spent her spare time in the library with a small group of fellow Ravenclaw students studying for next week's test. This was where Andrew met her, while he looked for a book on hexes to play a trick on a friend with. She in her fourth year and he in his sixth, they immediately were taken with each other and spent nearly every day together.

Upon Andrews’s graduation, he became a follower of Lord Voldemort, hiding this fact from Lora, concealing his dark mark on his forearm with long sleeves or cosmetics. When Lora was eighteen, the young couple married but Andrew continued to keep his involvement with the dark lord a secret for her safety and because he knew that a deatheater had killed her parents shortly before they'd met. When Lora was nineteen she became pregnant, much to the delight of both of them and at twenty she delivered Anthony Morose. Soon after, the couple celebrated the downfall of Voldemort, leaving Andrew confused but still hiding his secret, they celebrated the baby named Harry Potter but mourned for his loss of his parents.

Even as a small baby, Anthony had begun to show signs of the magic that flowed through his bloodline. Just things that make raising a magical son harder then raising a normal child. Setting bed sheets on fire when he didn't want to take a nap, or levitating the family cat when he was not allowed to have candy before bed. All spells his father taught him and his mother worried over. She knew that sending him to school unsupervised when the time came was going to be asking for trouble so the family moved to London where Lora began to get her degree in teaching and Andrew worked as an officer. Anthony had inherited his father's knack for making trouble in much the same way he'd inherited the man's red hair and blue eyes.

At Age five, his family moved to America where Lora began teaching kindergarten and then first grade. By second grade, Anthony understood that magic was not allowed around normal people and that he should keep his 'talent' a secret. By the time Morose turned eight, he was deeply interested by all types of magic, including 'false magic' (as he called magician work). He began to study magic and it wasn't long before he'd learned sleigh of hand, quick change (changing costumes to look like someone else using new clothing and makeup), ventriloquism, mentalism (body language reading), imitation, and illusions, all magician work. He worshiped men like Houdini, Robert-Houdin, and Selbit, all famous magicians.

As Anthony got older, he began to look more and more like his father but he starved more for information, the way his mother had in her youth. He also grew closer to his parents, often asking about their youth. It was becoming more and more nerve-racking for Andrew to hide his dark mark, his past from his wife and son, though neither of them suspected a thing. When Anthony was ten, the family moved back to London where Andrew once again took up being an officer.

At age eleven, Anthony Morose received his letter from Hogwarts and was packed and ready to go to the school long before the date arrived. At school, Morose was sorted into Slytherin, his father's house, though the hat had seemed a bit torn between Hufflepuff and Slytherin, stating 'you're loyal, and intellectual, but your not at all patient.' He was a study bug, always asking questions, bothering the professors with 'Why?' and more commonly 'But how?' He was not an affectionate person, not into relationships or overly close friendships. He'd bumped into the famous Harry Potter on several occasions and suppressed the urge to pummel the boy with the same question everyone else always did. "How?" But he managed to leave the kid alone.

In his third year, Anthony's brother, Andrew Michael Riddle Jr., or Andy, was born. Anthony left school for a week to visit his family and his knew brother. Then again that same week in his third year for his brother's birthday, then once more, in his fourth year during the twizard tournaments. During that visit, his father seemed a little distracted to him but he could not figure out why.

After the twizard Tournaments in Anthony's fourth year, he'd mourned for Cedric, having known the kid, and even spoken to him in passing on a few occasions, though he didn't know him in depth. He did however become worried, just like everyone, when Harry brought news that the dark lord had returned. But more so, he became curious. How could one go about becoming so powerful as Voldemort?

In the summer between Anthony's fourth and fifth year, Anthony's life did a 180 on him. His father told him and his mother a secret that he'd been hiding for eighteen years. He told them that he'd served for the dark lord Voldemort, then showed them the mark by rolling up his sleeve and wiping makeup away with a tissue. Lora cried, she wept. Anthony didn't know what to make of this exactly. His father had lied to him. He couldn't understand it and he became anger and morbid. He would talk to no one. But then he calmed himself and approached his father asking him what he was going to do now that Voldemort was back. His father had replied 'I served him once. Now I either serve him or I do not. And I will not.' Andrew worried that, by ignoring his previous masters calling, he would be killed, but it did not come.

During that summer, Anthony came across a stray cat on Diagon Ally. An undersized black cat with white feet and a single white ear, and strangely, eyes that were so blue they could be mistaken for white. The cat was blind. He became attached to the blind stray and took him home. "Mom can I keep him?" Lora had shaken her head and said "ask your father." "Dad, Mom said I could have this cat!" He named the cat Verkur, after a demon he'd heard of. A demon with white eyes.

In Anthony's fifth year at Hogwarts, a large black spot was found on his father's lungs. Cancer. It was detected too late to do anything for him so Anthony left school for a month to sit with his father...then attend his funeral. Once his mother and brother were settled in as best was possible, he returned to school.

From that point on Anthony's middle name described his attitude perfectly. He was still enthralled in magic, obsessed, curious. He realized that now it was his job to take care of his mother, not spending his time staring out a window blankly. So he shifted his focus back to his school and struggled to make up what he'd missed. Now in his sixth year at Hogwarts, Anthony is still studying hard, working hard, asking questions, and scarcely shows affection outside of friendship to anyone.

Wand Type: Mahogany, feather of a phoenix, 13 inches
Blood Type: Half Blood
Student's Year: 6th
Which house would your character prefer? Slytherin because he is, unfortunately, impatient, prideful, he is obsessed with power, Anthony is high-tempered, and sometimes vain. He's resourceful, creative, influential, and a little on the aggressive side. He does not give up until he's gotten what he wants. Once he’d been in awe of Voldemort, though now he feared and respected the man that his father had shamefully served. What makes him different from most other slytherin is that at the time of his sorting, he had the whole makeup to be a slytherin. But now, time changed and he changed. He might be more fit for Ravenclaw of Hufflepuff. But he doesn’t want to change houses, if that’s even possible.
Give an example of your role-playing:
1. Anthony Morose Riddle selected a tall-backed chair and pulled it near to the fire and fell into it. A little black cat with white paws and a single white ear followed him, leapt into his lap, kneeding his thigh painfully, and then curled up. While other students had changed into their own chosen clothing, Anthony still wore his uniform...or part of it anyways. He'd abandon his gray sleevless vest and his shoes in a crumbled pile on his bed, his robe over the back of a chair. He still wore a pair of gray socks, his gray slacks, as well as the white button down shirt with the sleeves rolled to the elbows and the silver and green tie that was greatly loosened.

A low hum of voices washed over the Slytherin common room. Dinner had only began half an hour before and most of the school was still in the Great Hall, leaving the room empty save for a group of first years and a lone third year student. They ignored Anthony, who now sat with his head bowed, sliding a finger capped with a chewed short silver-painted nail under the seal of a wrinkled white envelope that a tawny owl had delivered.

Inside was several parchment pieces full of elaborate blue ink, a signed permission form to go to hogsmead that he'd forgotten at home, some money, and another parchment which he unfolded to find a water color painting of a green round thing amongst white puffs and blue that he could only assume was a green sun, and four brown stick figures, two with red hair, two with purple hair. The print at the bottom was barely litigable:
E Uv Uo Fony

A weak smile crept over his lips. I love you Anthony With daft fingers, Anthony looked back to the letter from his mother. Mostly she chattered on about Andrew, work, and friends. Folding the letter and pocketing it, Anthony stared into the fire for a long moment. Finally, scooping up Azrael, the cat, he stood and left the common room to roam the corridors, wondering silently if it would be risking to much to find a secluded spot and light up on of the cigarettes in his back pocket, the dirty habit left over from his 'rebellious stage'.

He wouldn't risk it...not yet. Not tonight.

2. The platform was crowded with youthful wizards and witches chattering excitedly, most rearing to get back to Hogwarts after the summer vacation. Many were in uniform, creating one black wave of black and gray clothing. A young man stood off in a corner holding a small child, both appeared more sulky then he did excited. Though the older of the two was obviously no older then sixteen or seventeen, the former being correct, he could have passed as the father of the look-alike child in his arms.

Tall and lanky, his hair was flaming red with blonde and orange sun-caused high lights, the bangs at chin length and the rest short and spiked. Dazzling blue eyes seemed suspicious of everyone around him, silently accusing. He wore the white shirt and gray slacks of his school uniform, the sleeves rolled to his elbows and a silver and gray tie hanging limply around his neck, untied. The child in his arms had a bowl cut hair style, auburn but not really red and his eyes were green, a few differences between the boys but there were enough resemblances.

But then a woman, shorter then the young man, came over, thin and shapely in a white tee shirt and a pair of blue jeans, and it became apparent that the younger of the boys looked to be her spitting image with a few variations. Anthony Morose Riddle wrapped one arm around the woman and buried his face against her neck and into her auburn hair. Lora wrapped both of her arms around her eldest son’s neck and hugged him to her.

“Don’t go getting into trouble, Anthony.”

“I won’t mother.” He straightened to his full six foot one, holding this posture for a moment before sliding into his usually slouch, lowering him one inch closer to his mother’s five feet six inches. He shifted the child to the other hip. "Be good Andrew. Draw me pictures." The child's attention had been absorbed in Anthony's silver-painted nails but now his little arms were wrapped around his brother's neck. "Can I have a kiss?"

The child seemed to think about this briefly before puckering and kissing Anthony, who now handed the three year old over to Lora.

"You best go get a seat now. Say hello to Minerva for me." Anthony nodded and kissed her cheek.

"Love you mom." He bent and picked up a small plastic kennel containing a black and white, year old kitten and then boarded the Hogwarts E

Re: Anthony Morose Riddle (No Relation to Tom Riddle)
Hey Raven,

Nice app. Anthony is an interesting boy. *nods* Just some things, nitpicky, but yush. He'd be considered a Half Blood, even though his father was a Mudblood. He himself was magical, and so was his wife, however neither are from purely magical sides...Therefor, he's a Half Blood. I think that made sense? o.O

That, and, I'd like to see more Slytherin in him. You've stated that he changed a lot since his sorting...But that plays no role. The hat chooses by your innermost qualities, and they seldom change. So while he may no longer support, or be in awe of Voldemort, and maybe he's not a conniving little backstabber...But the important things like ambition, ruthlessness, the true qualities of what make a Slytherin, they shouldn't have changed.

I think that covers it. If you wish to discuss anything I've mentioned, feel free to contact me via

Whoo, this took forever, but I wasn't sure if you were planning on editing above comment. But, well, accepted anyhow, no matter what you meant to say. *waves* Welcome to H-ANA!
