Byron of Torhlem
Name: Katie (Kaia)
Contact Information: knightowl45@msn.com
Character Information
Name: BYRON of Torhelm
Gender: Male
Age/Birthdate: 11, October 21 419 H.E.
Position: Page
Location: Palace
Personality:
Byron is very active, smart, determined and imaginative. He has wanted to become a page ever since his older brother went away to the palace four years ago (He is now a squire). Byron is very confident in himself, and he will work very hard to master everything thrown at him. Because of this he is does very well in his acidemic classes, and although he hasn’t had much training in weapons, is fairly decent, if not exceptional. Byron works best in small groups of people, not liking to be swamped with others and also wanting to be able to come to know each person. Byron has a very kind disposition and will think the best of someone upon first meeting them, but also has strong beliefs and if these are trodden on by someone he will tend to dislike and avoid that person. Byron is endlessly curious and drove his parents mad asking questions when he was younger, to try and stop the endless flow, his parents hired a tutor to teach him the basic academics. Byron also loves to debate, and has been known to argue with anyone one who seemed smart enough to uphold an opinion. Although Byron started weapons training at home, he hasn’t excelled in them in the way he excels in academics. He works really hard to bring them up to his best standard though, and is constantly practicing. Byron loves the outdoors and most animals, but dislikes many of the “toy” animals owned by the ladies in the palace, as he prefers the much larger animals like dogs, and horses.
Background:
Byron is the youngest child of David and Robin of Torhelm. He has wanted to become a page ever since his older brother went to the palace. When his brother went off, Byron wanted to do all the things his brother had done before going to become a page. So a few weeks after his brother’s departure, he began weapons training, and academic classes, he also began learning how to track, and hunt. This went on for some years before he was old enough to become a page and he was finally allowed to make the trek to Corus, along with his father David of Torhelm.
Physical Appearance:
Byron is tall and well built for his age. He has short cropped, mouse brown hair, amber eyes, a tan completion, and a muscular body. He usually has a real or vague smile on his face, and his facial description is usually one of polite interest, unless something interests him then it is an expression of rapt attention. Overall, Byron radiates happiness around him and a sort of safe feeling.
Strong Points:
Byron is kind, intelligent, and determined. He also is very dedicated to becoming a knight and will work hard at any task given to him by his teachers. He is a decent bowman and an excellent wrestler, he’s never tried swordsmanship, but isn’t very good with a staff, so he practices extra every night with it.
Weaknesses
Byron doesn’t have that good of a base of weponery. She was very secluded and somewhat pampered at his home, so he knows little about the art of war, and other parts of the realm, all of what he knows was learned from books.
Magic:
He has no magic
Pets:
He has a large mutt dog, Ellwood, and a brown stallion, Arrow.
Sample Post:
Byron stood, transfixed by the glorious sight of the Palace and the outlying city of Corus, gleaming below him. It all ends tomorrow, he thought, half pleased and half anxious I’m to go there tomorrow! As he raised his eyes to the sunset, wondering what being a page was like, a large hand settled on his shoulder. Byron looked up into his father’s understanding eyes. “It’s so beautiful,” he said, “even better than the pictures in the books.” David of Torhelm smiled. “We’ve got a fair long way to go tomorrow lad, I suggest you picket Arrow and go to bed now.” Byron nodded in mute acceptance, and started to get into his bedroll. Just before turning over to go to sleep, he propped himself up on an elbow to see the gleaming city catching the final rays of the sun. “I’ll be a part of that tomorrow.” He thought sleepily, “Tomarrow..I’ll be a page.”
