Hello from a newcomer
Hello out there fello musicians, composers and classical music lovers alike.
I would just like to introduce myself as I am very excited to stumble upon this board. (a bit sad that i didnt find it years earlier)
My name is J Palarino and I am an American born composer currently living in Japan. My musical influences include primarily moderns... Adams, Shostakovich, Bartok, throw in some Nelhybel and Oguri. I love to write with a sort of faux-folkloristic melodic style (modes, short melodic cells, etc) while implimenting layed rhythmic strands and metric modulations. Attemping to develop a sort of Musical Cubism..anyway
I look forward to meeting you all, and hope to have some great conversations on this board.
Orchestral percussionist here...I used to be active on these boards till my account was erased. But now I'm a more frequent poster.................welcome
Pleasure to meet you. I tend not to check this site to much as there are very few replies. (I normally post on www.music-scores.com) Buch of young kids but at their are a lot of posts and you can be sure to get at least some kind of a reply.
so, with which orchestra did you perform? and why did you stop?
Re: hey
I'm actually getting ready for college auditions now, so I'm not in any professional groups yet. But I'm a member of the American Youth Philharmonic (www.ayporchestras.org) We play all around the greater DC area, they're a really fantastic group
