Hi
I have three rats that I got at the pet store. I felt sorry for them because they were in such a small cage, so I took them home and bought them a great big tall cage.

I love rats and my hubby and I had five of them. We got them about the same time and really loved them. The sad thing that goes along with rats is that they do not live long. We had ours for about three years and they all died of old age. We were so sad to see them go that we decided we could not take the heart ache so as much as we miss them we are afraid to get any more. Maybe if our hearts heal we will get more but right now it is to fresh in our minds and we miss them terrible.

Hi FireFox,
They are the regular type of fancy rats. One is a grayish brownish, the other is white and cream and the last is white and brown.
They are little loves and are very intelligent.
What do you feed your rats?

We feed our rats the lab blocks as the main part of their diet. We also give them on occasion a small amount of hamster/gerbil mix, or a few morsels of cat food, and they love their fresh fruit and veggies. Strawberries and grapes are a big hit.
