Jennifer's Room
Jennifer lay on her bed petting Zorra affectionately. The black cat purred, brushing against Jennifer. Featherball sat on her stomach, eating sunflower seeds she had 'borrowed' from the kitchen. Jennifer sighed. The convent was so boring.

Kat knocked on the door. This was one of the only doors she hadn't knocked on today. She was so bored! Maybesomebody'd want to do something in here...she waited patiently for the door to open.

Zorra leaped from the bed, hissing. Paranoid cat... Jennifer thought quietly, shooing Featherball off her stomach. "Coming!" She brushed seeds off her dress, shoving them under the rug. "Just a moment..." She fixed a few pins that had fallen from her hair, and hid her dagger under her bed. She opened the door, smiling plainly. "Hello? Can I help you?"

Jennifer looked Kat over. This place is boring. She thought sheepishly. Zorra had wondered over, she began to rub on Jennifer's leg, purring quite loudly. Featherball had flown to her shoulder, pecking at seeds that were still on her.
Jennifer was somewhat excited at meeting a new girl, but it did not show on her face. "This is one of the most boring places I've ever been. Would you care to come in for a moment? I can introduce my pets."
A servant walked down the hall, caring a large box. He wore the same colors as Fief Redbow. That's strange... He dropped the box at Jennifer's feet and walked away rather quickly. Very strange... She opened the box with a quick smile to Kat. A medium-sized black ball rolled out.
The dog panted lightly. Jennifer picked him up with ease, and he licked her face. "You're sweet." She told her new dog. "I'll call you..." She thought hard putting him down. He skipped around, sniffing everything, including Zorra. "...Skipper."
Turning to Kat again, she beckoned her into the room. "Make yourself comfortable!" Skipper had jumped on a couch, panting, and sniffing.

Kat smiled and walked into the room. It felt comfortable to be surrounded by animals. "Wow" she said " Nice pets!". She looked around some more and took a giant gulp of air. It had a faint odour of animal, like Dun Indewood. She felt very at home in this room.

Jenifer smiled, sitting across from Kat. "Thank you. My name is Jennifer of Redbow, but call me Jenni." She petted Skipper, who had climbed into her lap and wined for a scratch. Zorra had curled up beside Kat, asking for her head to be scratched. I hope were not keeping that panting creature in the corner. She told Featherball. Featherball was sitting on Skipper's back. Oh, I like him. Featherball told Zorra.

Kat smiled. "I'm Katherine of Dun Indewood, you can call me Kat. Nice to meet you Jenni." she extended her hand for shaking. "I love the animals, it must be hard taking care of them!"

Jennifer, who was scratching Skipper's belly, laughed, and shook Kat's hand. "Yes, they're a handful. But, they're company, which is needed. The cat there is Zorra, and this bird here is Featherball. I'm not very creative when it comes to names!"

Jennifer giggled. "I guess being a boy could have it's perks." Her mind wandered to her daggers, stored under her bed. Skipper skipped up to Kat, and rolled over, wanting to be scratched.

There was a knock on the door, and an irritated servant poked her head into the doorway. "You should be in the dining hall," she said, looking around Jennifer's room in badly concealed disgust. "It's time to eat, and you aren't supposed to be in your rooms past breakfast-time." Shaking her head, she backed away from the door and pattered down the hall.

Jennifer stumbled into her room, laughing. She fell on the bed, scaring Featherball. What a silly girl that Alanna is! I wonder if she's ever heard of the saying 'control your temper'. What a pessimist! She finally got her giggles under control, and petted Skipper. Hm...Alanna is too young and gullible to become to good a friend, maybe some of the other new arrivals will be better.
A study released proves that it is not possible for a human to become ‘high’ off sugar. A panel of 12 highly trained doctors conducted this study.
These ‘doctors’ only spent their whole lives training for this. What do they know? Stupid doctors...I CAN BE SUGAR HIGH IF I WANT TO, GOSH DARNIT!

Cara hesitated before knocking on the open door. Only the servant, panting after her with her heavy trunk, made her do it, Cara didn't want the woman holding the heavy thing any longer than he had to. She quickly stepped into the room allowing the servent to put down the trunk, and beat a fast retreat before she was put to anymore work. Cara's mind froze in fear when she saw the girl whom she was to be sharing a room with. She was giggling. Immediaty Cara's mind reeled with anything that could be wrong.
Is my skirt ripped? Did Star rummple my hair? Did I pack too much? It's not like I have any idea what's going on! "You are not mixing enough with the other girls" The daughters said, "So were moving you to another room, with a roommate." And that was all! I don't know who this girl is, I don't even know her name
As it was, Cara didn't have to start the conversation, her nimble, tabby cat, Legend, did it for her. Leaping from behind her trunk where he had been hiding, he walked over to the other girl, observing for a moment, before turning and leaping onto the windowsill, observing the garden beneath it.
"I'm sorry," said Cara flustered, "Legend does what he wants most of the time, I had told him to stay outside for a little while, but he obvously found a way inside. I'll take him back out if you want," She said, not enjoying the thought of being parted with her cat. As it was, Cara just looked at the other girl, not knowing that the misery she was feeling filled her eyes.
I hate this, why can't I go back to my old room. I'll run away before I'm parted from my animals, they're the only thing that's keeping me sane in this aweful place!

Jennifer sat up, surprised. "Hello. You must be .. Cara, correct? I'm Jennifer." She laughed again. "Don't worry about animals, I have some myself. Their the only thing that keeps me going." Zorra weaved in and out of Cara's legs, sniffing her. "Come in! Sit down!" She beckoned Cara farther in.
