i think krist is pretty good for him originally being a guitarist, he decided to play bass for nirvana.

He was really good, but limited, I mean he never made an effort to learn how to play with his fingers...you couldn't really hear him all that well most of the time anyway though. And I've never liked that trebly grunge bass sound played with a pick anyway, like I couldn't stand the way his bass sounded live most of the time, wayyyy too much treble for a bass and almost no bass...but yeah Krist is still pretty good.

He wasn't a Flea or anything, but I'm guessing he was pretty good. Kurt wrote all of Nirvana's basslines anyway. The treble-bass was part of the Nirvana sound. Yeah, Krist was pretty good.
