MVP
It's coming to the end of the regular season, which means end of the year awards are looming. I would just like to put in a statement that Dave "The Savior" Cain should be the front runner for MVP this year. Dave's regular season is over, and although his home run lead is no longer there, he has outstanding hitting numbers and outstanding pitching numbers. Him and Curtis have carried the Road Warriors into the playoffs for the first time. As many of you know, the Road Warriors haven't had the best regular season records over the past couple of years. The stat that I think really puts Dave over all other competitors is that the Road Warriors are 19-5 with him, 2-5 without. Those are clearly Anti-Kemper numbers and proves without a doubt that he is needed for the Road Warriors to continue their success.
Based on stats alone, he doesn't deserve the prize. Scott, like usual, put up the best overall numbers.
However, your other point makes total sense. Dave Cain helped a bottom feeder team make every other team in the league look foolish.
However, just as Joe Montana didn't singlehandedly win superbowls, Dave Cain did not do it alone. Massive props go out to the rest of the Road Warriors squad. Scott and Dave put up similar numbers, but the whites and myself couldn't touch you guys.
It's still a toss up in my opinion. You really have to think about a lot of things. There's a lot of gray area.
Re: MVP
Yeah yeah, Dave and Scott has okay seasons, but what about me?! Do I have to spell it out for you? I've got 15 2Bs, with at least another 15-20 ABs left to go!
And if I end up leading the league in HRs, then don't even bother voting, unless it's for me. I'll throw away every other vote. Cause I'm a pimp like 'dat. And like this guy!

Joseph, you make a great arguement for MVP but have you look at the leaderboard lately? Whose atop the triple leaders? Oh you didn't know? Scott and Dave are tied for first. Do you know how many combined triples everyone else in the league has COMBINED? Thats right ZERO. MVP? I say it's pretty damn close. In order to break the tie, I say we let Skyla do a boy review on each of them and whoever has the higher Do-Able rating-gets the MVP If both of them have a lower Do-Able rating than..err..say a Benito Santiago then we'll give it to you Joey.
Re: MVP
That's an outstanding point Phil. As a man who is on the career leaderboard in triples, I know that it takes a special player to get a triple in our league. It is an underrated stat just because it rarely occurs. I can't believe that I'm actually on the leaderboard for doubles. That is sweet, but that also means that I only had "warning track" power on those doubles, therefore the double might be overrated. These are the pitchers that I will face after this weekend and this is me

I'm still not sure on the issue. I am far from convinced that Dave deserves MVP. Sure, his team took first, but The Holy Whites still made the playoffs, still made the finals, and still might beat your road warriors. Scott Obviously had the best all around year, had more homeruns than Dave, better batting average, better slugging, and obviously better pitching. But more than that, Scott keeps the team together. Tavis and I got down a lot against wiffolution, and lost a game we shoudl have won. Scott keeps us motivated and makes us play better than we would without him. I remember in game 1 of the first round of the playoffs against wiffolution this year, we were down 1-0 in the bottom of the 5th inning. I think i either struck out or grounded out to get the second out, and I was pissed and basically had lost hope. Scott turned around and said. "Get ready, you're up next", obviously assuming he was going to get on base. We then proceeded to go back to back to win the game. It takes more than helping a team win the pennant to take MVP.....think about it.
Re: MVP
First of all John, you make valid points. I can't agree with you though, because of the number two. There are two areas in which I disagree with your theory. You still need to win TWO games to win the series chump and it's easy to compile bigger numbers when you play a majority of your games with TWO players. With all that said, Scott is a great motivator. I've seen lots of improvement from you at the plate, but Dave provides motivation and hope with his bat which as you know speaks louder than words.
