here's my day report/review... it's probably nothing too exciting, but i'll share it anyways...
our seats were great, nice and close... 3rd row! the men skated 1st so they all came out and did a 5 min warm-up. kurto was the very 1st to skate. he skated to moondance and jamie was sitting in the kiss and cry singing along to the music! how cute. i think viktor was next and he skated to flight, then brian skated to some really interesting music and it had this theme thing going on. it's really hard to describe it, so you'll just have to see it on tv! ilia was next, and he skated to something like make this house a home or something along those lines. it was really good, and he had an absolutly HUGE triple axel and viktor and kurt started bowing down to him in the k&c area, it was priceless.
next the ladies and pairs came out for their warm-ups. oksana looked great and looked really serious, and she did a lot of watching elena and anton. elena fell on a throw and oksana got all concerned and skated over to elena and gave her a pep talk! nicole skated first to love story, some like techno remix or something. then oksana skated next to some violin piece. she started out like she was playing the violin, it was a really nice piece. she two footed one of her jumps and let out a ugh! hehe she's so funny like that. i threw a white bear with good luck clovers on it for oksana after she skated and when she got back to the k&c she kept putting it on anton's head! i believe jamie and david were next and skated to cryin. dave two footed their sbs jumps, but it was still a really good program. i threw them a wish bear carebear and dave skated over to it after their skate and the flower girls were coming out and dave whistled at them to come pick it up and they ignored him so he picked it up and held onto it the entire time they were in the k&c! elena and anton skated next to medowlands and wow they blew me away! they were flawless and just skated so wonderfully. world team was ahead at this point by like one tenth of a point i think. then there was time for ice resurfacing.
for the long programs they matched it up differently. the 1st group was kurt, oksana, nicole, and viktor. they came out for their warm ups and oksana and kurt were doing a lot of goofing off. at one point oksana was pretending to literally kick kurt's butt, then she was hitting his bum, then they hugged and made up awww a true kodak moment! i cant remember the skate order here but viktor skated to hotel california and was perfect. nicole skating to dust in the wind and she was crying at the end of her program, someone mentioned that maybe her mother just died but i am not sure. kurt skated to ding dong daddy and got lots of 10s for it! he was awesome. i threw him out this soft, ridiculously huge teddy bear and he definetly gave it a HUGE hug when he picked it up, it was so cute. he sat it next to him in the kiss and cry and put his arm around it. oksana skated to swan lake, and OMG IT'S SO GOOD TO SEE OKSANA BACK!!! i definetly may or may not have cried a bit during this routine. wow wow wow. she got straight 9.9s for her performance and she was sooo happy. when she skated over to pick up the birthday carebear i threw out for her, i yelled happy birthday oksana and i think i startled her because she almost slipped!
then the pairs and ilia and brian came out for their performances. ilia skated to some classical music and was great. brian skated to the 2nd 1/2 of his short program, again you'll just have to watch. it was a really great program, i was quite drawn into it myself. jamie and dave were next and did who wants to live forever and OMG I LOVE THIS PROGRAM. i am so glad i got to see it again because it's just so powerful and dramatic and great. not a fan of the costumes, but whatever. they rocked. jamie loved the pig amy threw out for her in BIG BIG BIG way! elena and anton skated to let me fall. i love the music, the costumes, the whole program is just really great. elena fell on the throw. but it was still a good program. and most of us know... THE WORLD TEAM WON! i was secretly rooting for the world team just because of oksana.
so afterwards we headed to where i knew the buses or whatever mode of transportation they'd have would be. i wanted to find out what they were riding in because i assumed it would be a hotel shuttle... so i gave all my things to kelli and amy and casually strolled down by the trucks to see what they were riding in. it was a crowne plaza shuttle, so we headed over the to CP with the directions from our new skating friend sera! she joined us in some good old skating groupie fun. we sat down in the lobby and waited to see some action! so we're sitting there looking around and we see this old guy, and we're like he looks like dick button, and then we're like no he looks too old, then i heard him talk and i yelled OMG IT IS DICK BUTTON! it was hillarious and random. i enjoyed it. sera went to get his autograph but he saw her coming and started speed walking, i'm like come on dick, i doubt too many people ask you for your autograph! slowly the judges came in first, denis petrov was looking mighty fine. christine hough looked wonderful. then the skaters rocked the house. nicole was the 1st one in, and some ladies got her autograph and pics. but we remained seated. brian and kurt came in next, kurt had my big teddy bear on his suitcase but we didn't go to talk to them either. sometimes i just don't feel like i want to bother them, plus there is always time to meet kurt lol.
oksana was next in the door, and this is where my life was complete. she walks in the door with gene and some of her friends, some ladies called out her name, and she says "no, i'll be over here" and she points to us and makes like a beeline to our couch and sits down on the arm next to kelli. okay oksana WANTED to come chill with us! i died a million deaths. so i got up and talked to her and congratulated her and told her how happy i was for her to come back to skating and how great she looks and how much i love her. she was signing my copy of secrets of skating and she wrote me like a novel. it says to brenda, best wishes, oksana baiul, albany 2003. i told her i threw out the bday carebear with the card attached and she told me thanks and that she has it still. then she pointed to an address label i had in my book and goes "do i have your address?" i said yes, i put it in the letter in the card, i died! oksana is going to send me something?!?! OMG! lol. then some other people came over simply to congratulate her and tell her how great she looks. then i got my ukrainian flag and asked her to sign that too and she gladly did. she was cute, she unfolded it and looked at it to make sure she was signing it right side up. then i got my picture taken with her, and then i said goodbye and thanks. she left with my sharpie in tow. so oksana baiul now has my sharpie. the same sharpie i used in art class oksana baiul is now enjoying lol i am a dorkus!
there is sooooooo many more random things i could mention such as BROWNING'S BROWNIES! boi boi looking at my butt and calling out dorky lmao, kurt browning needing to cure my allergies, good show verne lundquist, my dick button impersonations in the lobby, tuffy and kurto having one last romantic rendevous in the hotel room, the maids busting in our room at 8am, the front desk lying about check out time. it was a really fun few days, i had a blast.

I had more fun than I could have possibly imagined at Ice Wars. The coolest moment by far was having Jamie pick Chele and I out of the crowd and point to us "there they are" Words do not describe how cool a moment that was! And well the competition was awesome! Amy and Brenda's collection of stuffed animals for the ice rocked! I think the Pepsi Arena's security was quite amused with the collection when we came through the gates. Chele and I also got to sit next to Oksana's hairstylist during the second half which was neat. Meeting Sera and hanging out at the CP was a blast. I can only imagine how Brenda felt when Oksana made a beeline toward us. I was shocked when she sat down right next to where I was sitting. It's not everyday an Olympic champion sits down beside me. I wish that I could have had a chance to talk with Tuffy but there really wasn't an approrpriate moment to even get in a casual hello. Still it was great to see her! Oh yeah it was SO cute when Kurt had the teddy bear Brenda gave him on his bag. Gotta love Kurt! There were so many moments that made the trip memorable. Browning's Brownies!!!!!!!!! YAY!

Aw, those were really fun reports. I'm glad you had so many truly special moments to recall and cherish. And, brenlynn, those "random things" sound like they'd be the best stories of all.

Thanks for the report!
It sounds like you had an amazing time, guys! I was going to mention after-show stuff in a separate report, but since I never did one (oops!), let me just add that it was nice seeing all of you that I saw at the event and over at the hotel!
