Need a quick quote
This post will expire by the end of the day. I need at least one quote for my article. You will not be identified by name or city; your quote will be anonymous.
Please answer this question:
If you do not believe that a house can be haunted but you have heard that one is, how would you respond to this? Would this change your mind about haunted houses?
I used to work as a bartender in a hotel that was built in 1878. Many of the other employees swore up and down the place was haunted, even claiming to have seen the ghost(s). In my entire 7 years of closing that place in the middle of the night, being the only person on the property, I never saw a thing that convinced me it was haunted. I just don't believe in that kind of thing.
Thanks for the quote Melina. I went ahead and used it. I just sent my article in.

I'm glad you got your quote. I was thinking of how to answer it before I finished reading. But, I couldn't think of anything. Probably because I do believe places can be haunted. We have two ghosts in this house that I'm living in now anyway.
One likes to try & be funny by moving things that we don't use a whole lot. When we (I) finally give up and buy another one, the thing we were looking for is in the middle of the desk when we get home.

lol. You never know. Last night, I swear I came across a little ghost cat in the hall. I kid you not!
My mom can give a perfect description of the girl -- the one who likes to move things -- she's seen her so often. I've only seen her a few times out of the corner of my eye, but I know when she's around.
There's a guy, too. He surprised me one night when I got up to get some water. To tell the truth, I think I surprised him as much as he surprised me.

Jen, I came across this today and thought you might be interested. I wrote a story to submit but I'm giving it a day to breathe first.

Atriad Press!
Hey, Dawn!
My essay on our haunted house was in the first book published by Atriad Press. So, yeah, I believe in ghosts--spirits--some kind of energy force. Ours was a little boy who liked playing with my kids' toys or opening and closing kitchen cabinets or ringing the bells that hung on our back door. I said "was" because we moved. Never disclosed anything about that ghost to the new owners. Of course all they had to do was read about it in Haunted Encounters.

Jen, glad the link came in handy.
Stormie, I remember when the series was started. I wanted to submit something but I couldn't decide which ghost story to share. Congrats on getting published with them, though! Very cool. To my understanding, some states now have a law that you are supposed to disclose if a house is haunted to future occupants/real estate agents.
