New Katia, Daria and Liza photos!
This link has already been posted at a few other message boards, so a lot of you may have already seen these, but there's some great new photos of Katia, Daria and Liza over at the G&G Corner:
I'm at how graceful and mature Daria looks in that first photo: I know people usually say she looks more like Sergei (and most of the time, she does), but the pose and the expression on her face in that photo really reminds me of Katia. It's hard to believe Daria's now the same age Katia was when she began skating with Sergei (and only a few years younger than Michelle and Tara were when they competed at their first world championships). How time flies...
The photos of Daria with Artur Jr. and Katia holding Liza (I can definitely see the resemblance to Ilia) are cute, too. I was to see how big Liza is in that photo, but then I realized she's already two years old and this (to the best of my knowledge) is the first photo anyone's ever seen of her.
Katia's new program sounds interesting, but I'm still debating on what I think of her costume. I'm not really fond of unitard-type costumes in general, but at least this one looks better than the light-blue unitard she wore last year and that icky green thing she wore a few years ago. Katia usually has such gorgeous costumes, but those two in particular...

I couldn't find or see the pics of Liza, but oh my goodness has Daria grown up! I haven't seen a picture of her or anything since the Snowden on Ice X-Mas special!

You're right, bella77--the photo of Katia and Liza is no longer there. Judging from the posts I read on the G&G Corner message board, the photographer asked that the photo be removed because she received a lot of negative comments about it (saying it violated Liza's privacy, etc.) It doesn't sound like Katia, Ilia or any other "official" people from IMG had anything to do with the decision.
From reports I've read from people at the show, Katia was reluctant to give the photographers permission to take photos of Liza, but she did eventually give permission...so it wasn't as if it was a "paparazzi-type" photo taken without Katia's permission or anything like that.
But there was another photographer at the show who took photos of Katia and Liza for an upcoming Spotlight On Skating issue...so hopefully those of you who didn't get to see this particular photo of Liza will get to see her then. Edited by: jcspkbfan at: 10/13/03 7:06 pm

Remember the scene in Snowden On Ice where Katia is putting Daria to bed? The look on Daria's face ... I recall thinking that I'd never seen a child that looked SOOO much like their father. She has his face, his smile.

I remember showing a pic of the 3 of them {Sergei, Katia & Daria} to my friends & family {after Sergei passed away} and we were all just breathtaken by just how much she looks {looked} like Sergei....it was *almost* like a mirror image. It really touched me, actually.
As for the pics odf Liza. I guess I can understand a parent's wish to want to sheild their children from paparazi type photos and stuff. In all honesty *IF* I were a celberty with children I'd do the same.
But if there was permision given to post the photo, then I am clueless as to why it was given such negative feedback.
