On Dates
All dates are H.E. (Human Era). To give you a rough idea, Alanna: The First Adventure begins in the year 430 H.E., and ends in the spring of the year 433 H.E. The year is laid out as it is today, with 365 days divided into twelve months. We are less sure about how a week is laid out, but for the purpose of the game we assume that it is like a week in this world, made up of seven days, beginning on Sunday and ending on Saturday. Holidays in the Tortallan Calendar mentioned in the books include the Winter Solstice, Beltane, Midsummer’s Day, and the Fall Equinox. For reference, a list is provided below with character’s birthdates:
