Quotes I often find some quotes very inspiring. Even if they're just that, quotes, taken out of context. I know for every quote there is likely a countering quote one would find just as moving, but alas, that does not deter me from being a quote whore. My current fave is: "The important thing is not to stop questioning." Albert Einstein |

Re: Quotes
He is one I am using a lot as of late....
"Squirrel, who are you to question god?" Question god? I thought I was questioning you. When did you become god? |

Re: Quotes I use AOL Instant Messenger alot, it's a fault of mine. I'm almost always 'away' though. Which is odd, cuz then why even bother to have it on? Anyway, when I'm sleeping I put up a quote about sleeping. Some really reach me and I ponder them often... "In Sleep we lie all naked and alone, in Sleep we are united at the heart of night and darkness, and we are strange and beautiful asleep; for we are dying the darkness and we know no death." - Thomas Wolfe "I reached for sleep and drew it round me like a blanket muffling pain and thought together in the merciful dark." -Mary Stewart "Good communication is as stimulating as black coffee, and just as hard to sleep after. " - Anne Morrow Lindbergh "For sleep, one needs endless depths of blackness to sink into; daylight is too shallow, it will not cover one." - Anne Morrow Lindbergh "All men whilst they are awake are in one common world: but each of them, when he is asleep, is in a world of his own." - Plutarch "That we are not much sicker and much madder than we are is due exclusively to that most blessed and blessing of all natural graces, sleep." - Aldous Huxley "The repose of sleep refreshes only the body. It rarely sets the soul at rest. The repose of the night does not belong to us. It is not the possession of our being. Sleep opens within us an inn for phantoms. In the morning we must sweep out the shadows." -Gaston Bachelard P.S. I don't know much about the people who said them, which okay by me cuz I'm more concerned about the quotes themselves than the author. Eh... |

Re: Quotes I keep AIM open almost 24 hours a day too; it keeps my dial-up connection on and I feel more "in-touch" with the people who have the user name I usually leave open (we leave messages back and forth for each other even though we're "away"). I found this part of the quote by Gaston Bachelard especially thought-provoking: Quote:A bit of a spooky idea. |
