I suppose you can name "real life" paladins too, but if anyone mentions Eldric IV (the guy behind the username, not the character) I'll knock him in the head.

Re: Speaking of paladins...
Paksenarrion, from "The Deed of Paksenarrion," that lady is the paladin as far as I'm concerned. She crawled through a mile and half of crud to get her paladinhood and then really went thorough the crap.

But never gave up faith or surrendered.

I like to speak up for a character of mine Avandore, the paladin that never was. He was blocked from paladinhood by DM fait, so became a GL fighter and died saving hostages from ratlings. Would have made it with paladin powers... Frinking Godfrey.

My favorite game paladins are Brennin (yes, that's where the username comes from)

Valens (based on a real life Christian emperor, whom I consider a "real life paladin")

Rudeger (yet another paladin from my game)

I am reminded of that one scene in Monty Python's "Life of Brian" where the high priest is trying to sentence a man to death by stoning but he ends up getting stoned himself because he keeps saying "Jehovah."
