Swivel Hips/Renata
Hello peole! Let me warn you in advance, this will probably be a long post... Since I'm a big local music junkie, and I catch as many new bands as possible, I've decided to mention a couple of my standards. Meaning, bands I go to see when I know I'm guaranteed a good time. Since we're on the Kelvins web page, and I've already mentioned Rane in a previous post, I will move on to Renata and Swivel Hips.
Renatas new material has some great edge to it. Their music is maturing nicely and the Kurtis's lyrics seem to be growing with the times as well. It also doesn't hurt that the boys are from my original hometown, anyone who can make it out of Enfield have kudos in my book! www.renata60.com
Next, Swivel Hips, I have to admit, I'm a sucker for a horn section in a rock band. Therefor, I was a bit taken with Swivel Hips from the beginning. I must say though, these girls (and guy when Jaeme sits in on bass) got soul. Gotta love it. www.swivelhips.com
