Well, it's coming down to the wire. I have everything but The Bulletin Board, The Café, The Saloon and The Porch moved to the new Board.
I made everything except the above forums invisible and password protected so no one posts anything there.
The Plan:
I'd like to be on the new board by Friday afternoon. I'm thinking it should be ready by 5pm PST/8pm EST.
So, in order to get everything, and to get post counts transferred, we need to post somewhere else Friday morning/afternoon. I have a temporary board set up on the new site. We could either post there, or at the good ol' backup site. I'm leaning towards the temp board at the new site. I'll let you guys know by this afternoon.

The new board is very customizable. I have it set up to look similar to this board. That can change. It's all up to you guys. It'll be interesting to see how it reacts to all of us posting at the same time.
Everyone will need to sign up at the new board. It will take some getting used to, but I think you'll like it. The feel is somewhere between the old FF and Proboards (our backup site and Midnight Hams).
Everyone can pick their own theme, or just leave it as I have it. For now, the only themes I have loaded are the ITN theme, Tea theme, Saloon theme, and the default SMF themes. I will work on more themes as time rolls on.
There are some great features at the new place! Now, instead of having to use your own web space to post pictures and avatars, you can upload them to the board. The posts will have seconds in the time! Uh, let's see... quoting posts works great! Quoting posts puts the original poster, the time, and a link to that post in the quote! Smilies are very easy to upload. If you want a smiley to be a regular part of the Board, just send it to me and I'll upload it. The administration part is really easy and powerful! If something goes wrong, or say, if a spammer decodes he wants to bug us, it is fairly easily taken care of.
I haven't figured out how to place the links table at the top (or even the bottom) of the new board. I'll get that going in the near future.
For you techies... SMF is written in php and uses MySQL as its database. I have two scripts in the site's crontab that make incremental and full backups of the database and the enitre site. I've had it running for a few months now and it works great! I just need to install something on my pc to automatically download the backups. Even if the board completely crashes, the posts won't be lost!
I am keeping this board open, but wont keep the Gold status up to date. So, the posts will still be here. I'll have a prominent link to the new board at the top of the page so people can find us.
