The Kelvins are "Snazzy"
Hartford Advocate writer Thomas Pizzola has granted your Kelvins some ink in his latest installment of his 'Local Motion' column. While reviewing local band The Reign, Pizzola said the following:
"On Saturday I went to the Zen Bar and caught Hartford's the Reign , who played a decent set of straight-ahead, riff-oriented rock, that only started to grate when the band wandered a little too close to Staind territory for their, and the audience's, own good. In a way the band is very similar to another local act -- the Kelvins -- except without the snazzy wardrobes. Well, that and the Kelvins have never attempted to play nu-metal, but wouldn't it be funny to see Greg Garcia in a backwards-turned baseball cap going all Fred Durst on your ass? Well, maybe not. But still, Reign front man Scott Sebastian has an expressive voice and when the band kept it simple and rocking, they played good, no-frills bar rock. That's not a slam.".
Scott subsequently contacted me, requesting [with tongue in cheek] a snazzy shirt. Thanks to Tom for the nod, and to The Reign for taking it with good humor. BTW, Here's a link to
THE REIGN.
