Re: The Original ITN Appreciation Thread
This place has a lot of very happy, very infuriating, and very sad meaning for me.
I started this place on January 22, 2002 when the board we used to be on was rather unceremoniously shut down. That evening, while at work, I started this and the email started flying. Over 200,000 posts, almost four years, and about 1,600,000 hits later, we start a new chapter.
This place has brought us even closer together.
We have gained new friendships and have started a global family. Some have found loved ones (hey baby!).
We lost Mr. and Mrs. Frank Price and it felt like a family member died. Well, Frank and Linda were family.
We watched as Lynn (Smiling Raven) travelled across Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California to come to live here (with me )
We have lost pets and shared their lives, pictures, and passing.
We have shared our personal lives with each other. One big therapy session! LOL It has been a Godsend for me, and I'm sure it has for others.
Some have met in person. (Vegas!!!)
We have had a few fights.
We have shed a few tears.
We have also shared many, many laughs.
We have shared our low points, and our high points. People have come, and gone, and come, and gone again...
We went through Art Bell retiring, returning, retiring, semi retiring, semi-semi-retiring...
We have seen Kid, Kid II, and now, Kid III.
For a little board that was literally thrown together in a few hours, we've had one Hell of a ride.
Keeper Of Kudos

And least you forget.....We had one wedding between members. Have another wedding between members coming up. And Oh yes Garry married a nonmember. However Mrs Garry is welcome to join us at any time she pleases.
I lost two very dear friends here. Frank and Linda Price will always be a part of me. As Rapa will long be a part of many.
I found love and support when Red and I lost our two old cats. More support as Red went thru medical problems.
I've come to know people here that have never posted here. Both Jean and Apache are a part of our lives yet done save FaKa have met them.
I've watched as families have expanded. Either thru marriage or birth. Watched as love has been found. Seen strong friendships formed.
We've laughed, loved, cried and fought together. We've become one heck of a family with all the good and sometimes bad that comes with being family.
I'll always been thankfull for that one rotten night in January of 02. If not for being tossed overboard I doubt that we would have all become as close as we have.
All of you and this place mean an awful lot to Red & I.
I look forward to the new home, new friends and great times with all of you there.

Well, we paid for 3 more months ($11 + the $11 we already had in our Community Chest), soooo we should be good for a few more months of ad-free reminiscing.
It usually is more expensive than $22. We only paid for three months this time (instead of six), and our traffic has gone from about 70-80MB a day to 0.3 - 1.5MB a day since the move.
