The Rules
IC Rules
1. Rudeness will not be tolerated by anyone to anyone…so in other words; please don’t abuse each other and/or any of the staff members.
2. No starting board arguments over IC actions.
3. No pitting the staff members against each other, we all get along and that’s the way we’d like to keep it.
4. Questions? Check the contact list and get a hold of the Admin or Mods, we love to help!
5. Check all OOC forums regularly for important news and updates
OOC Rules
God Modding/Fighting
No God-Modding… This means controlling another person’s player etc. An example of this would be inflicting wounds on another without consulting with the player first. Or making another player speak. Fights, for example, should happen something like this:
Right Way...
Alicia dodged the vampire's attack and then lunged in and brought her sword down for another swipe.
Wrong Way...
Alicia dodged the vampire's attack and then stabbed him with her sword along its chest
Also if needed an admin can overlook the fighting.
Multi Posting
Multi Posting is allowed, as it helps the board remains active and people to interact with other players. But don't go overboard; a char in about 10 threads all over the board is a bit much, unless you play a leader which can be overlooked. Also you must MUST have some sort of timeline with your char, if that means only involving them in a few threads then so be it.
Mature Content
Mature Content threads are allowed, however it must be marked clearly in the title. So that younger role-players on the board don’t go in, or well they at least know what they are clicking into. Please also make it tasteful…I REALLY don't want too see those 4 letter words that are ever so popular in really bad smut, being as this isn't a smut board. Try to be a bit modest and remember Mature Content threads can be used for char development, not cybering...
Post Sizes
No one liners. If that's all you can really put into your post is one line... *points tot he door* then this RPG is not for you. It’s mandatory that posts be at LEAST three paragraphs in length. It’s just really hard for someone you're rping with to respond to about two lines of writing, so effort is the key guys!
No Character Rip Off’s
I’ll try and make this simple for you all, NO character should be ripped off from the original sin city, I don’t want any innocent strippers who are stalked by mafia and the such like (I.e. Nancy rip off’s), NO mute Asian prostitutes with impeccable killing skills (I.e. Miho rip off’s) etc etc.
This I will stress also applies to the portrayals of characters, I don’t want to see any Jessica Alba strippers, Devon Aoki mute prostitute / assassins etc etc. Get it?
Character Limit
You're allowed 4 chars only. This is to stop people from making chars just to make them and the character just taking up space. Besides Char Development is the key not a race to make more chars than someone else or using a certain model/actor/actress before someone else does.
Character Deaths
When a character dies on the board. Then that's it, no coming back. The problem being that chars coming back often causes a bit of IC problems and a lot of confusion. There really are no exceptions to this rule. Dead chars stay dead. If your character dies you're not allowed to make a twin who wasn't regarded in the characters bio, if there is a twin they cannot have a similar personality. I know pretty strict but it’s only so people don't remake the character.
Plots
On the board plots are ENCOURAGED. It makes things fun, talk with other rpers who post with your characters to get thing moving with them, or just go with the flow of the things. BUT you can't force certain plots onto players/character especially if it could harm the character or screw with their history. ALSO if it would affect the board as a whole, or mess up other obvious plots that the staff has put together, or effect a whole race then it MUST be talked over with the staff. But be prepared to wait a bit because there's a line of ppl who need to be talked too before it reaches us (Kae and Ali).
