Very Interesting Interpretation of TLU
I read this essay a long time ago and it is the most unique and creative interpretation of The Last Unicorn that I have ever read. The author makes the case that Peter S. Beagle says he doesn't know what the book is about or why he wrote it, so she offers a very interesting interpretation. She says that the events in The Last Unicorn represent the stages of maturation in a young girl's life.
I was wondering if anyone has read this essay or if anyone would be interested in reading it. I'm curious to know what other people think about this essay. It isn't terribly long, and I promise that it is at least entertaining if nothing else.
*Disclaimer* - Before you click here I want you to know that there are events listed here that are in the book but not in the movie. This essay was based upon the book version of The Last Unicorn. Therefore if you don't want to read it because you're currently waiting to read the book, don't feel obligated to read the essay. This essay is just very interesting and I'd like to know what others think.

i liked the essay but i don't know if i have it all worked out. the part where she says she didn't know what it meant when schmendrick agreed to kill lir & then didn't, after a quick read (i still have to read the book) i'm wondering if maybe it could represent the struggle of leaving childhood, fighting against puberty & the realization that it's necessary & not all bad? i'll let you know more about my thoughts once i read the book
