What bolt action rifle
do each of you prefer?

For older rifles I tend to prefer to the Enfields. I know a lot of people think Mauser actions are the best but all the Enfields I've been around seem to be better - then again maybe it's just me.

Now for modern rifles give me a good Remington 700 and I'm perfectly happy.

The best bolt-action rifles, that I know of is the Lee and Mauser-action.
But it a trench war, Lee will come out on top in such rugged conditions every time.

Both are well made, and design for such use's, but mauser action is more accurate than Lee' Infields.

Modern rifle's are based on these two actions, but arent as well made,

Re: What bolt action rifle
Im more partial to the Enfields,..even over my beloved Mosins.

The Enfields Ive owned have all worked flawlessly and have an Aire of distinction about them when brought out to the Range.

Plus,...its the fastest cycling bolt action ever made.

My Swede M38, followed closely by the VZ24.

Currently " shopping " for an Enfield, kind of leaning towards the 2A1 in .308, but may go #4mk1

It would be between my 6.5 Swedish Mauser, and my Remington 700,30-06.My 700 is the sweetest shooting little gun you've ever seen. But I also like the Swede.

I love the mausers........like my enfields.......if I had to have one it would be a toss up between my Yugo 48A....over the 48 I have.......or the m39 Mosin Nagant.......I do well with either.........I'll tell ya what I wouldn't use though.......the Mosin m44.......too much kicking and stompin........

Re: bolt action
You are correct about the M44 kicking.... I have 2 of them, 1 for shooting the other for my collection. This past weekend i shot around 40 rounds from my M44. I can't begin to tell you the pain that D*mn metal buttplate puts on your shoulder. But man.......what a fine shooter.
anyway back to topic. I would prefer Enfields over Mausers. But I own all Mausers :)

Re: bolt action
Favorite bolt rifle....Either my Finnish Mosin 91/30 "Long Tom" as I call it, it the Yugo 48.

About the M44.... Anyone ever wonder why those things are in such great shape when everything else is well worn? They found out way back when that these things kicked worse than a Russian Mule drunk on cheap Vodka!!! So they crated them up for half a century because no one else was stupid enough to take the darn things. Now the old retired commie gun makers are laughing their pensions off because were their rifles are finally kicking the crap out of the Capatolist.
