Wow
hey, my name is Eric Morris and i am a freshman at Loyola College in Baltimore. I am originally from Orlando FL, and have always been a fan of whiffle ball. During the first week of classes, specifically on a tuesday night, my roommate, John Kilroy of Philly, suggested to me that we play whiffle ball. I was like well do u have a ball and bat? and he proceded to pull out a brand new un used whiffle ball and bat. So we walked up and down out dormatory hall asking anyone if they would like to play... and history, for us, was made. From those first 10 kids who came out to play has grown to up to 16 kids every tuesday night at midnight for Bulter Parking Lot, midnight whiffle ball. I was doing some research on the subject and i came across your incredible site... so i would first like to applaud you... this thing is awesome. Now i would like to ask some questions, where did you go for this website? What kind of ball do you use? b/c i noticed u said it wasnt really a whiffle ball. and any suggestions for a league that is just starting up.. well thats all and keep living the dream that is whiffle ball. On a side note i would like to add that i am our own league's leader in HRs. anyway thanks for your time
as always
ERIC
Where did we go for this site? We made it ourselves, I think.
We use the Cosom Fun Ball, as has been discussed innumerable times elsewhere on the site and throughout this message board. We're not all that "fond" of the "official" ball, so we use one that acts more like a baseball, and we try to essentially play a scaled down (and slightly modified) version of hardball.
Starting a league? First off, keep stats. Then be prepared to deal with the wierd guys who take their stats too seriously. Keep track of wins and losses (however you please), and slowly start to incorporate other things you think a league should have (All-Stars, Playoffs, website, etc, etc, etc). Doing so all at once might cause you to combust.
But stats and standings, right away. PEACE!

Re: wow
Depends on what you mean by "this," "guys," and "do."
Believe it or not, this website only accounts for about...55-60% of my life.

How come....
How come when people from <insert town/city here> talk about starting some kind of wiffleball league they are ALWAYS the HR leader?
Why don't we ever hear someone say they've just started a wiffleball league and they're tied for last in HRs?
For example:
Hi I'm Jim, I live in Fort Worth, Texas...Yeeee Hawww. And I've just started a league and we play on a clay surface and I strike out 90 percent of the time.
Re: wow
To get one started? We made our own site. Get a copy of Dreamweaver, or Notepad, and go to work. You only have to pay if you want a cool and snazzy domain name, like...oh I don't know, www.wiffleball2k.com. The only thing I've paid to have this site is hours upon hours of time I'd instead spend watching bad TV, and of course, my self respect.
And Phil...I think the answer to that question is no one wants to hear from Seth Yoder.
