dreams
I had a weird dream I travelled to the future. I can't tell you much other than my friends were there along with taco bell and really fast elavators.

It's one of those really vivid dreams where you wake and think "I can't believe I'm was dreaming"

Re: dreams
Do you really really like Taco Bell? ;)

I have dreams like that sometimes -- so vivid and "real" that it's hard to believe it was a dream. I've had a few really eerie ones where it almost feels like I'm watching a movie instead of dreaming (you know how dreams can be really choppy and discongruent -- well these dreams had a plot and went from beginning to end); I may write them into short stories someday.

Do you ever have lucid and/or recurring dreams?

Yeah, I love mexican food :D
I've had many recurring dreams about the end of the world (they different each time)

Re: dreams
I've been told by someone who dabbles in dream interpretation that recurring dreams are significant, and have found the symbolism in my recurring dreams to be reflective of things going on in my life. I wonder what the "end of the world" symbolism means.

Re: dreams
Would you like to throw out your entire life set-up (job, living environment) and start over?

People on another message board have dreams like this and they think God is trying to talk to them about the coming end times. They're funny.

Re: dreams
I think our dreams tell us more about who we are in the present than what will happen in the future. But yeah, the "end times" people do tend to be funny.

Re: dreams
I can dream lucidly. It took me years to learn, but I did, and boy let me tell you the greatness of lucid dreams!!!

You should really try to learn how to dream like this...
Taco Bell rules, as does Arby's. I would kill for some of that food right now.

Re: dreams
Aside from a nicotine patch, what can I buy/visit to dream lucidly? All I get is incoherent little snippets, which is okay, but I'm jealous of people who can describe elaborate dreams.

Re: dreams
For me personally, lucid dreaming has just been a matter of practice. And, if I don't practice for awhile, I have them less often. Also I can't be overtired; I have to get the sleep I need + extra. It starts for me by being visually observant in the waking world -- I try to take note of things like the color of the sky at certain times of day, the texture of grass, little things like that. Then at night as I'm falling asleep I make a conscious effort to remind myself that I'm about to enter the dream world and will need to be observant there. My lucid dreams always begin with me noticing something odd or out of place, and realizing that this object/color/being/whatever is not a part of my "real" waking world. Then it's a thin line between realizing I'm dreaming and staying in the dream vs. actually waking up -- I think that's the hardest part and requires the most practice. None of my lucid dreams have been as spectacular as some my mate has had, but I have been able to manipulate my surroundings, create new objects, and make people and/or animals "appear" there with me. It hardly ever lasts for more than a very short time before I'm awake though. :\ Maybe with time I'll get better at it.
