Jennifer smiled. "Oh, It can't be that bad. Here, Cara. That black blob over there is Skipper, my pup." She pointed to him. "That kitty at your feet is Zorra, and this bird," She pointed beside her, "Is featherball."

Cara grinned most of her fear and worry disappearing. "You seem to have some great names! Most of my animals had to wait weeks before I could find a suitible name for them." As she kneeled down to pet Zorra, she said, "How long have you two been here? I've only been here a couple months, but it's seemed like an eternity." Giving Zorra one final pat, she turned back to her trunk, and dragged it over to the empty bed in the room, which Legend now jumped up upon and settled down for a nap, apperently uninterested in the human dealings or the other animals.

Jennifer sank into a chair next to the waterfall. "I've been here four years, which seems like a few eternity's." She looked at the cat. "What are your pet's names?"

Cara's eyes grew wide with shock, Four years! How has she survived? She thought, hoping she would be able to get away before too long. She then realized that Jennifer had asked her a question and responded, "That's Legend," She said pointing to the cat on the windowsill, "My sparrow's names are Star, Barley, and Merle, my hawk is Arrow, and my horse's name is Sky." Still thinking about Jennifer's four year stay she asked, "So what have you done all this time here? Other than lessons I mean, I usually go outside and read or ride my horse, but that would get old after four years."
Jenni forced a weak laugh. Putting on a tone that sounded quite like one of the Daughters she said, "Jennifer is too un-lady-like too leave, she must stay longer." Featherball shot out the window, but was chased back in quickly by a rather large bird with a note attached. She untied the note from the bird, reading it allowed. "Dearest Jennifer, We are giving you your birthday present early. It is our best hawk, Apple. Treat him well."
Jennifer sighed, as Apple rested himself on Jennifer's bed, preening. "I don't know one thing about hawks!"
(( EEEEEEEEE. I was going to have her parents give her a hawk and dog for her birthday. I didn't know Cara had one! TEEHEE. But this may work out... ))

Cara laughed at Jennifer's impersonation, "That's perfect," she said, giggling, "You sounded excatly like a Daughter!"
She idily watched as Featherball, flew out of the window, but quickly sprang to her feet as a large, dark, bird like shape chased him back in. Thinking Arrow had finally figured out how to escape the mews, Cara started for the window, then stopped, this bird wasn't Arrow. Cara watched startled as the bird, rested on one of the bed posts preening as Jennifer took off the note tied to his leg. Jennifer then read the note aloud, and sighed, saying she didn't know how to care for hawks. Cara smiled, "Oh, I can help there," she said happy to help her new roommate, "It's not that hard, and it is actually quite fun having a hawk. I'll have to introduce Apple to Arrow at some point."

Jennifer grinned. "I'm lucky I have you as a roommate." Suddenly, an idea hit her. "Maybe we can keep them in our room! We could have posts, and we could lay down paper and the servants could change that everyday..."
Apple was dark brown with one green eye and one blue. He looked intelligent. Jennifer wrapped her arm in a cloth, and whistled for him. He flew to her arm, and began to preen her hair. "You're sweet."

Kat smirked and gave then became gloomy and sighed. "Well, enjoy yourselfs but if I'm late for Introductory one more time, I think I might give one of the daughters a heart attack. Well...maybe it's not such a bad thing. Anways, see you two later. " she said walking out the door.
Remembering and important detail she turned back. "And since your two are the pet experts, perhaps you could help me with the companion my father's sending from his Bahzir friends. " she said lightly and walked to her Introductory class.

Jennifer nodded at Kat. Setting Apple on the bed post, she smoothed her skirt. "Ready to go?" She asked her new roommate, heading for the door. "Follow me." She headed out into the hall.
