Re: re:
Let's clear things up a bit here!!

The z24..the newer ones with the 2.4 twin cam and 5 spd are capable of high 15s with a good driver. The automatic is confined to staying in the 16s. The 3.1s are mid 16s cars and CAN be in the 15s with a couple mods and a good driver. I know cause I had Sunfire with the 3.1 v6 before.

The SiR, has 160 hp and 111 lbs torque at the flywheel. 138 hp and 100 lbs torque at the wheels. It has a close ratio tranny which enables it to stay above 6000 rpm between shifts. Stock magazine report 1/4 mile times to be 15.7-15.9. But most owners do not know how to launch there SiR. They cannot be launched under 4500 rpms cause the engine will bog down. A good launch is the key.

So get a guy who knows his SiR and we will rape the GT automatic and will be in front by at least a car lenght of the 5 speed Z.

As for the 97+ Prelude Sh, you are day dreaming...even I cannot beat my friends SH and I run 15.4 at the track. The magazine reports 15.2-15.5 on the 1/4 for the Prelude SH.

So don't think cause you beat 1 Prelude or SiR that the car isn't all that. You just got lucky that's all!!

And as for the TypeR...95% of the time it's either a rich kid or a middle age geek driving it because it's pretty expensive so they do not know how to drive it..so it's hard to find a good race against one...but you'll be surprise when he leaves you 4 car lenghts back!

And as for the Top Speed...your Z is limited right??? Can it even it 200?? Are you even brave enough to bring it that high in your unstable car?

The SiR is drag limited at 230 kmh..meaning with a little improvment on the aerodynamics it could easily get to 250.

I have nothing against the Z or it's owners..just trying clear things up cause you seemed pretty confused and dreaming in color!

later.

Re: re:
only one way to settle this, race time!!!

Get your best J-body (stock or bolt-ons) VS one of our SiRs or take your pick, here's the list.

92 integra RS- stock
92 integra RS - SiR motor
99-00 civic SiR - stock (CAI)
97 integra GSR - bolt ons
93 Civic Si - ...you don't even wanna try that one
92 integra GSR

take your pick.

I'm sorry, but no J-body is gonna take any of theses Hondas.

Owner of the world's only Honda with the spirit of a Ford Tempo

Hey! I got a 1991 sunbird gt 3.1 manual and against the first one I could have a very good chance it will be mostly the driver but let's say that he would win I'm gonna laugh like shit because I probably paid half or a 1/3 of what he paid for his car so he can be a car or less in front of me for the 1/4 mile. Plus you people forget something in real life you don't race on a track from 0-100km/h or thinks like that, you just drive on your lane and when you need your acceleration is when you want to pass a lamer who drives like my grandma, with a j-body that will be much more easy because you just downshift and you have your max power already because hp and torque is at low rpm, with a honda let's say you drive at 1500 rpm at low speed your gonna downshift so your gonna be at what 3000 rpm maybe more that's not even close to where the max horsepower is situated for a civic I know that because my parents have one (an automatic I know!!!!!! but still I can very easely see that at low rpm it has no power) anyway that's what I think maybe I'm wrong but that's my opinion untill somebody can prove me wrong !!! For the sir and all the rest they seem like quick little cars just that if somebody would buy a japonese car it would be a much better idea to get a TURBO!!!! (got to love turbo)!!!!!!

TURBO , come on . BE a man and keep it N/A and kick some ass .

me i don't like TURBO and NITROUS , i find more challenging to make a N/A car fast . its easy tu put a turbo or nitrous and get some good numbers .

try it now with the N/A route , especially in your case 4 cyl BOWTIE driver ( driver of the one and only gm 4 cyl that was rated LEMON since its debute AND don't tell me they upgraded it , to me its the same OLD fucken QUAD 4 ) powerfull but fragile . and before you tell me GM performance made performance parts for N/A route on the QUAD 4

Wanna race the RED '92 gsR

1500 rpms!!!!! nobody drives his honda at such low rpm..unless it's automatic. 3000 rpms is the cruising rpms..like 60kmh in 3rd or 8kmh in 4th.

And then when you downshift, say from 3rd gear at 60kmh, you enter 2nd gear at about 5000 rpms..which is pretty close to max power. I'm not talking about the SiR here, just the other base models.

The Sir, cruises at 60kmh at 3500 rpm..If I downshift the rpms hit 6000 and I'm in Vtec screaming til 3rd gear in a matter of a second.

Honda does not have power down low..but they are geared to better use the top end power.

Re: re:
1500 rpm!? hahahaha whats that!!!... im cruising at 4000 rpm on the highway at 120 kmh in fifth gear... honestly I rarely drive under 3000 rpm Not because I drive fast... but because the tranny is made like that... if you drive under 3000 rpm in a honda... its because you are going pretty %$?%$?&%$ slow! damn im right at 3200 rpm in fifth gear on the blv. at like 75-80 kmh :lol

re;
k good everybody likes what he wants that's ok with me!!!!but you should still go to that site it has very nice video clips of drag racing. Also to finish something for good because I'm getting tired of this a civic model that is suppose to be the equivalent of my car would be a 1991 civic si and from what I know that car only has 108 hp and even with a very good driver it wouldn't stand a chance against a sunbird gt 3.1 manual (plus it costs more) but I can understand why some people like them more it is true they break less often and for the Integra or new sir well I don't give a sh*t if I lose or not !!!!!! Plus I race for fun even raced one of my friends mitubishi eclipse gt and I knew he was gonna kill me big time still it was fun and I was happy that he didn't destroyed me that bad only had a car on me!!!!!! Well cya on the streets I'm loosing too much time on this msg board!!!

Re: honda stay back....Z24 rulessss!!!!
Maybe the crx had a D16Z or D16Y 125-127hp engine but if it was stock it had 113hp

90-91 CRX had 113hp
90-91 Civic SI had 108hp 100torque

Your lucky because here in North America they only had 113hp but in europe and japan they had the 160hp.

Pat your car is nice and it is fast but in all reality do you really think that your car can take a teg or a prelude in corners? Come on get real specially since you got coilovers! Dude get the real deal if you even wanna go that way! Koni yellows and newspeed springs! Or tokiko blues! Dont go coilovers in a windy road ....youll be toast!

Nissan Sentra SE-R SPEC V / v's / Z24
j'ai pris cette artique dans sport compac car pour une 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R SPEC V de 180 hp selon nissan avec un moteur 2.4l il fait les même performence qu'un Z24 150HP ????

Anyway, the car we tested, felt strong on the road. Its torquey engine and exceptionally short, close gears fooled our backsides. Then we took the car to the track. Unbelievably, it was slower than the last SR20DE-powered Sentra we tested. That car hit 60 mph in 7.8 seconds and ran the quarter-mile in 15.7
What's more, on our in-house Dynojet chassis dyno the SE-R made only 142 hp and 153 lb-ft of torque. Drivetrain losses aside, any engine rated at 180 hp and 180 lb-ft of torque, which Nissan was claiming for the car at the time, should make more than 142 hp on the chassis dyno. Case in point: The 2001 Acura Integra GS-R carried a factory claim of 170 hp and turned 150 hp on our dyno.
