Hi brenlynn! Thanks for posting a link on my board. I'm so glad to see Kurt with a board. There are so few boards for professional skater! Kurt is a big part of the SOI family, and I have been following SOI almost since the show first began. I'm a big fan of Kurt's skating and have been since he was an eligible! I'm glad that he's decided to do guest dates with the show, since he doesn't have as much time to do the whole tour since becoming a dad!! I'm sure that I'll love posting here!!

Hi, everybody! I came over here from the link posted at the Kurtfiles mailing list a few days ago and it's great to already see so many people (and so many familiar "faces") on such a new board.
I'm not really good at "introduce yourself-type" posts, so I'll just say "Hi" to those of you I already "know" from other boards/lists, "Nice to meet you" to anyone I haven't already "met," and "Anybody wanna stop by my place and stuff me in your suitcase?" to anybody lucky enough to be at next week's Gotta Skate show.
I first remember seeing Kurt skate in 1987, but really became a fan after seeing his Tequila SP for the first time. Even in that less-than-flattering bright red costume, Kurt still managed to look cute and have a blast on the ice at the same time. I've followed his career ever since.
The one thing I haven't been able to do yet is see Kurt skate in person. Unfortunately, hardly any skating shows come to my area and I've never been able to get enough time or $$$ to travel somewhere which does. Hopefully someday, though...but in the meantime, I'll always enjoy seeing Kurt on TV and reading reviews from people lucky enough to get a closer view.
Thanks again for starting this board...there can never be too many places to talk about Kurt! The one thing I'd change about this board is the black and dark blue colors on the subforums--I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but for me, it's kind of hard to read:

BTW, I love the "mini-Kurt" icons on this board! How'd you make them? I recognize most of them as various Kurt photos I've seen on other sites, but I don't think I've seen this guy : before. Where did he come from and what costume is he wearing? Thanks!

i'll work on the colors, i did a little bit the other day because i was even worse, but i am being careful because last time i did that, it ruined all the colors on the entire page! but, i'll work on it!

Thanks, Brenda (both for explaining the photo and working on the board colors). Now that I look at the photo a little more closely, I recognize it as from the "rock star" number at last year's Gotta Skate, but I have to admit it's much harder to identify without the accompanying "long, blonde, 80s hair-band" wig!

I have seen Kurt many times in person...different SOI shows, after shows at the buses, Kurt was our cowboy at one of the SOI shows this year and did his little butt shaking thing basically on mine and Cassie's lap, and I'm going to both Gotta Skate and Ice Wars

Great board! I have been a fan of Kurt's skating since I first saw him on TV in the '88 Olympics. I'm glad there is finally a great, active ezboard forum for him!
I hope to see many of you at Gotta Skate next weekend! I have wanted to go to this show since the first one, and I am very much looking forward to it. From the amount of people it seems are going, I think we can look forward to a ridiculous number of reviews, LOL!

I don't really know what to say except that Kurt ROCKS! lol....I've been a fan since 1992. If I'd never have seen Kurt, skate chances are that I never would of given skating a chance {I always thought it was boring before I saw him}.
I LOVE it when people who normally don't like skating always make an exception for Kurt! lol.....he's just AWESOME!
