I'm so excited. I visited this board a couple of days ago. And I was wishing that it was still up and running. I always enjoyed that it wasn't so highly visited that I couldn't keep up when I needed a day away. It's good to be back.

Thanks for re-opening. :)

I am SO excited to see you all here ... seriously I'm like a kid on my birthday or something!

Mark, it is awesome that you've had some of your poems published - congratulations! I'll have to visit your atheist poetry website too. I've recently discovered Philip Appleman's poetry, and it has become as important to me as a humanist and ex-fundamentalist as the bible was to me as a christian. If you haven't read any of his poetry I highly recommend it. I look forward to reading more of yours too, and I am honored to have played a small part in your inspiration.

Julia! I was really really happy to see that you posted here today since it has been so long since we've been in touch. I hope things are going well with you. Are you still in college? How ironic that you visited here a few days ago; maybe you sent some vibes that I caught wind of because in the last couple of days I've really started majorly missing this place and knew I needed to get it going again.

Saph ... glad you're here chica! It feels sort-of like a reunion ... I'm smilin' while I type this 'cause I'm so happy to hear from everyone again. I think your custom sig is there - I checked back over them today and tried to add back in all the ones that were missing. I still need to add us in some custom smilie faces. It's a pain in the arse when you lose your "gold" status and everything goes back to the cheap free default stuff.

Can't wait to continue the journey...

:D

Nope, I didn't fall off the face of the earth. Although I feel that would be quite the plight. How long do you think I'd last out there in space? Indeed. :)

I'm still in college. My life goals have changed somewhat over the past 6mo - 1yr. I'm working towards being an art therapist. I've gotten a lot more in touch with myself. I'm also rather busy so I haven't been writing.

Part of that comes from being happier, and most of my old work was fairly dark. I'll have to make a point to turn out some more tranquil pieces. As soon as it stops raining I want to work on writing and art outside! It's been raining off and on for days and days. I love rain to death, it makes me happy, but hard to do stuff in it!

Julia, I am really glad to hear that you've been happier; hopefully that means things are going much better for you. Saphire, I think you're right that we've all done a lot of changing and growing in the last year. I was thinking that earlier today myself.

Yes it seems we all have changed a lot over the last year or so. Sometimes change is sad though. Can't be helped I know.....

It is good to see the core of this place back and in action. J you should write more... make the time girl... and dark is good, I loved your darker pieces, dark is the direction I have gone with my poetry... it suits me. So I could understand your wich to do more tanquil things... another bit of change creeping in huh?

Good to hear you are still in college....

So Saph, K... what have you all been up toooo????

It would be a sad thing indeed if we hadn't changed over the past year. That's the important thing about life - evolving.

Mark, I would never give up the dark writing. There will always be a part of me that needs it. Which is something I've accepted and don't feel is a bad thing. But one must have balance, no?

Next year is my third year here at this university. I'm hoping to go to Naropa University for graduate school in art therapy. They have such a strong focus on looking inside the self, with such things as meditation, etc.

What are you all up to?

Naropa University sounds like an amazing place, and I really appreciate that mission statement posted on their website.

I'm slowly trying to make my way towards my BSW (Bachelor of Social Work); I started out thinking I'd go into journalism since I so love to write, but I soon realized that was *not* the field for me. Now that my youngest child is getting older (she turned five this Spring - hard to believe) I can pick up the pace and take on a heavier class load.

I've given up drinking Coca Cola, which might sound silly to some but those who know me personally know that I was seriously addicted to the stuff. I had a lot of health problems that kept me cooped up inside the house far too often, including serious hypoglycemia, and that has nearly vanished since I gave up Coke. I had no idea how much havoc that horrible beverage was wreaking on my body. I've also lost a lot of weight (I estimate I was consuming between eight hundred to a thousand calories a day many days of the week in Coke alone :x ) and emotionally feel much better because I'm not always ill now and can get out and enjoy life.

Hello.

I'm not entirely sure of myself.
I'm not entirely sure of you.

Still, such is life! :o)

Having been blessed with an informal invite, I think I'd like, if I may, to wander your lovely butterfly garden, and partake of some of its simple pleasures.

I'll await your welcomes (if they come, well...) before posting, thank you.

Hello and welcome, taoboy.

I'm not entirely sure of myself either, so that's one thing we have in common. :)

Hope you'll float back in here and join us often, and post anything and everything you care to share.

Welcome taoboy. :) Excellent to see you here. I believe the avatar is of a tattoo you have?

Karen, I've also stopped drinking pop (soda if you like). It gives me a stomach ache, both the caffeine and the carbonation. So now when I go out and must have something sweet I jump for the lemonade. Yum. Escpecially flavored lemonades.

hello dali, and thanks.

Yes, that's my Eye of Horus tattoo, that I desigend and had done, I could do better these days perhaps, but I'm still happy with it.

I too abstain from stupid beverages, unless I'm out on the town, the sugar melts your teeth and stomach lining!

That's a cool tattoo, taoboy - on what part of your body is it located? I have three tattoos so far and have plans for more.

my Eye is on my chest, above my pierced nipple *giggle*. If I had more money (disposable income I mean) I'd go mad, I have a craving for a cybernetic backbone tattooed all down my spine :o )

Oooh a cybernetic backbone - that sounds like it would look really cool. I've never seen anything like that before.

Do you have a lot of piercings? I have a few; a few others rejected so from them I just have scars .. blah.
