I love Maine, if it weren't for that damn winter, the long closed fishing season, oh yeah and those damn black flies, I'd be happy living up there. I get up a couple times a year for a long weekend with my brother-in-law, who lives up in Ellsworth. He's been up there for maybe 10 years now and has some killer trophy smallie haunts, my best with him is a 6.2 lber. Let her go because of the best fight I've ever experience, but I wish I'd taken some pics for a replica mount.

I almost had the timing right for the fling last year but my schedule changed up at the last minute. I get by there several times every summer and fall as I make my way to one of my favorite smallie lakes about 1-1/2 northeast of Bangor. I will be again this year and maybe we can hook up for a day coming or going. By the way that 4-1/2 inch split tail is a killer for freshwater bass, as are some of the small offerings of the other baits.
